Barùkas Garlic-Broccoli Chinese Stew

Ingredients

  • 1 whole medium head of broccoli
  • 2 medium-sized spring onions 
  • 4-5 large-sized garlic 
  • 2 ounces of roasted Barùkas
  • 1 ½ heaping tablespoons of manioc starch
  • 3 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of sesame oil for cooking
  • 1 tablespoon for drizzling after cooked 
  • 1 large green bell pepper 
  • 1 large carrot

Preparation

  • Cut Broccoli into medium size florets, and place aside
  • Cut Carrot into strips as thin as possible 
  • Cut Garlic into small pieces and set aside
  • Cut Bell pepper into strips and set aside
  • Cut Green onion and set aside
  • Add the manioc starch to a small bowl and hydrate to obtain a batter mix and set aside
  • Preheat the wok without oil over medium heat
  • Sprinkle water on the wok if it sizzles its ready
  • Carefully add the sesame oil
  • Immediately add the broccoli, and bell pepper and cook stirring frequently. 
  • After 5 minutes add the carrot and garlic and continue stirring for another 5 minutes
  • Add the soy sauce and spring onions and cook for another 2-3 minutes
  • Add the hydrated manioc starch and Barùkas nuts, and continue stirring for another 2-3 minutes. 
  • Serve and drizzle a bit of sesame seed oil
